Michael started painting when he was about 5 years old. At the elbow of his grandmother he started to learn the basics of painting by helping with her paintings. She encouraged his efforts and young Michael was swept away by the fascination of someday creating his own work.
Soon, he was learning the basics of art from some of the finest teachers in the country at the prestigious Art Center College of Design in California. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and set out on long career in commercial art.
He has created, as he says, "Everything from matchbook covers to Super Bowl commercials for clients large and small." In addition to commercial art Michael has continued his passion for the fine art of painting. Today, while Michael is still painting and designing for commercial entities, for the first time he will be making himself available to private individuals. He has recently completed several murals; a fantasy seascape titled "Why there are rainbows" and a 6.5 foot tall by 44 foot long painting of the famous 18th hole at Pebble Beach Golf Course that provides the background for an accountant/golf nuts hot tub. He has also completed animal portraits of family pets and an ornate decorative border that added the finishing touch to a remodeled kitchen. In addition to these assignments Michael always has an ongoing series of paintings that he is doing for himself. However, new assignments always have priority.
